The picture taken from the top of our mast in quite windy conditons. The darker blue water indicates the depth around 5 m, the lighter blue is around 2 m. The black patches are the corals.

Notice Andrea's new hairstyle! After setting the kite in the air, getting his board is quite easy. This depth of water continues until the coral. Andrea said that while kite surfing he saw many sting rays on the sand resting in those shallow and warm waters...

While Andrea is enjoying kite to the full, Gaby is in a position of his rescue body. It's pretty demanding job; keep lookout on the surfer at all times, take some pictures of his good moves and be ready to go at full speed (SEAL's type) when something goes wrong. As you can see she managed to grab some pics of her heavy duty lifestyle.

Andrea went quite deep down while snorkelling and saw this huge manta ray, she was around 5 meters in diagonal. Notice a fish on top of the ray's head (we believe the fish is a cleaner of the ray).

This coral separates the lagoon and the ocean... It's around 10 m wide. You can see on the white waves crushing on it and in the middle that stick is a mast of another sailing vessel entering the lagoon. All anchorages in this kind of lagoons are very smooth, no rolling involved.

We enjoyed this walk up to the Belvedere = View Point. Far in the backround is Raiatea, bellow quite a number of vessels in probably the only shallow (4-10 meters) anchorage in Tahaa.

It's not always shiny and peaceful here but we have no complaints. When the weather is bad and we're in good anchorage we do some boat work, clean the boat etc. and sometimes it's quite nice to have a rest from the sun.

Behind me on the horizon is the reef and after that very deep ocean. I'm not that brown as it seems on this picture. Before walk we put on a sun lotion and that makes my skin much darker...
