"The romance of sailing is undeniable. Gliding through the water, the wind in your hair and the sun on your face is as good as it gets – thought it isn't always so blissful. When there's a gale blowing and your crew mates are bent over the side, bidding farewell to their lunch, things may not seem so rosy. But that's the beauty of going to sea – you never know quite what to expect. There is always a new lesson to be learnt or a new delight to be experienced."

Passage to Fiji - Day 2

After the first night of diesel and petrol fiasco we both took it very easy today; Sebastian (our autopilot) was on almost 24/7 with one of us always on deck to keep a lookout and making sure it won't stray; variable winds from a westerly sector ranging from 6 to 10 kts also required constant sail adjustments to make Pointzero go in the right direction fast. The calm seas helped us to gain back our strength. 140 miles in the bag today but still little over 700 to go. It looks like in the 36 hours a low pressure system will go right over us so will be a little unpleasant then.
