"The romance of sailing is undeniable. Gliding through the water, the wind in your hair and the sun on your face is as good as it gets – thought it isn't always so blissful. When there's a gale blowing and your crew mates are bent over the side, bidding farewell to their lunch, things may not seem so rosy. But that's the beauty of going to sea – you never know quite what to expect. There is always a new lesson to be learnt or a new delight to be experienced."

The Pacific

5 days off Minerva reef

Almost there... we have now 50 miles to go and planning landfall during night. We called customs on our long range radio to inform them of our arrival and gave ETA of 0100 local time.

We just sailed past a cold front that brought us more wind and rain; the wind backed (turned anti clockwise) and is now coming from the south west; knowing this was about to happen from the weather forecasts we positioned ourselves and are now having a comfortable ride.
